CAREER OPPORTUNITY: DISTRIBUTOR AND CONTRACTOR SALES REPRESENTATIVE

 

Wow Lighting and Controls is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter to join our team as a Distributor and Contractor Sales Representative (DSR).

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, and building strong relationships with distributors and contractors. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving sales growth and achieving revenue targets.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties will range from sales presentations, project design and quoting, to actively managing customer accounts (including stock commitment levels) while interfacing with our manufacturer partners to discuss new product and implement promotions.

  • Develop and execute strategies to identify and generate new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing distributors and contractors to ensure customer satisfaction and maximize sales potential.
  • Conduct regular sales visits, product demonstrations, product training and technical support to clients, effectively promoting Wow Lighting and Controls products.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and implement sales plans and strategies.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall revenue growth of WOW Lighting & Controls.
  • Source basic electrical/lighting technical information from manufacturer websites online.
  • Travel within Alberta and select areas of British Columbia on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.
  • Attend factory training sessions in the USA and various locations across Canada.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle that meets the company's quality standards
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one
  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience, preferably in the lighting or electrical industry
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and growing customer accounts

Considered an Asset:

  • Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or electrician with an interest in pursuing a career in the electrical industry
  • Familiarity with the lighting and/or electrical industry
  • Skills in eelectrical quotations or project administration 
  • Experienceworking with distributors or contractors
