WOW Lighting and Controls Office

Our new office and presentation center in Edmonton presents a very unique challenge and opportunity to showcase numerous different lighting control methods and systems. With a vast number of different lighting technologies, systems, and fixture types, the lighting controls design needed to not only be able to be able to be used as a presentation tool, but also needed to be functional and user friendly.

Once the lighting design had been finalized, we were able to design a functional controls system that incorporates a number of different control systems. The lighting controls installed in the Wow Lighting and Controls inspiration center include:

• Centralized Panel Control by nLight
• Networked Distributed Controls by nLight
• Stand-alone Distributed Controls by nLight
• Stand-alone DMX control by Easyl
• Integrated Distributed Switching, Dimming, DMX, and Shade Control by Fresco
• Integrated Localized Switching, Dimming, DMX, and Shade Control by ETC
• Integrated Centralized Rack Mounted, Switching, Dimming, and DMX Control by ETC
• Wireless Fixture Level Control by nLight Air
• Stand-alone Occupancy Sensors and Occupancy Sensor Switches by Sensor Switch

In addition to the controls infrastructure, we have installed various styles of user interfaces including, multiple styles of touchscreen controllers, push-button switches, and scene switches.

We have also incorporated a controls demonstration room in our new facility, that allows customer to experience our various control offerings first hand. This room has been designed to have controls installed, wired and rewired, and controlled as per the customers specific requirements. With this space we can help contractors better understand how to install various control systems, we can help designers better understand how to properly design and specify efficient and effective control systems, and we can help facility managers and owners better understand the control systems that have been installed in their buildings.

Our new office space is a great example of modern lighting controls design, flexibility and functionality. Not only does the Inspiration Center display the controls, but provides an opportunity to educate the marketplace on the capabilities and functionality of todays lighting controls.
