Each year, the AEA shines a spotlight on those whose hard work, experience, and integrity make a lasting impact on the electrical community in Alberta.
This year, Wow Lighting and Controls was proud to nominate Walt Fichtemann for the 40-Year Industry Service Award, presented at the AEA Calgary Christmas Luncheon on November 28, 2025.
Honouring Walt Fichtemann’s 40+ Year Legacy
Walt began his career as an electrician in 1983, gaining valuable hands-on experience before transitioning to the business side of the industry in 1989. He has contributed his expertise across manufacturing, distribution, and agency roles, bringing a well-rounded perspective to every project he touches.
Walt has been a key member of the Wow Lighting and Controls team since 2012. With a keen sense of the business and the tenacity it takes to make the deal go right, Walt plays an invaluable role within Wow. His deep technical knowledge, professionalism, and commitment to customer service have earned him respect from colleagues, customers, and manufacturers alike. Combined with his sense of humour and old-school approach, Walt is truly a pleasure to work with.
