Description: This course functions as an acoustics overview for architects and interior designers. It includes a brief history of acoustics, an in-depth look at acoustic applications, and strategic acoustic design case studies. Additionally, the course addresses key acoustic terminology to aid in the process of specifying acoustic projects.

Learning Objectives:
Analyze how current and new LED control technologies affect how well LED light fixtures perform, including the benefits of miniaturization, differentiating between dimming methods & dimming curves, including key lighting metrics to ensure system compatibility, lighting quality and improved user comfort.
Recognize the critical role of key industry standards, certifications and compliance codes that guide how LED light fixtures are chosen and installed to ensure project safety, performance and legal compliance.
Identify five major design trends in decorative lighting, such as natural materials, mixed metals, and minimalist designs, to explain how these trends impact material specification and fixture selection in contemporary interior design projects.
Learn tips for working with a manufacturer to specify LED light fixtures that covers technical details, system compatibility, performance measurements and code compliance to reduce project risks & ensure the design vision is fully achieved from start to finish.
